Football in our home is not just a sport. It is what we wait all year for. When Faith Hill and now Carrie Underwood say ‘Waiting All Week for Sunday Night’, it’s an understatement! Fall isn’t just a season, it’s football season!
The smile on my husband’s face when our four year old daughter says “Go Colts” or “TY Hilton is my favorite football player” is priceless, he’s beaming with pride. What better way to show our appreciation for all of his hard work and how much we love him than with a Football Father’s Day Card.
It’s difficult with a small child because when I asked her what she wanted to get dad for Father’s Day she says Ninja Turtles. It’s adorably sweet and thoughtful because that is something they enjoy together, they play with her Ninja Turtles together. Does he really want a Michelangelo figurine? No. I don’t think he does. But, I can assist her in picking out a gift and she can make him something thoughtful and meaningful like this Father’s Day Craft.
How We Made It:
We took the popsicle sticks, lined them up like a goal post and glued them in place onto a green sheet of card stock.
Next we cut out the football from the brown card stock. We cut out the laces and marks from white card stock and glued in place.
We cut out a square and I wrote ‘Most Valuable Dad’ on it.
For the extra football, we cut out the shape of the football from brown card stock. Cut the white embellishments from card stock and wrote with a silver marker: I’m Your #1 Fan.
Any football lover will enjoy these handmade cards from kids. It is a thoughtful as well as personal. Who doesn’t love personalized gifts from kids?
