Apple Tree Craft: Puffy Paint & Apple Stamp

Growing up we had an apple tree in our back yard. I’m not really sure why but they weren’t apples that we ate, more for decoration and playing chef in the backyard. We’d cut them up with rocks and make our own mud & apple pies. So while making this Apple Tree Craft with my daughter, I was able to share with her the many memories of our yard with the apple tree!

Puffy Paint:

Puffy paint is such a fun and easy ‘paint’. I don’t actually measure the ingredients, and it always works just great. But here’s what I typically use.

1- 1 ½ Cup of Shaving Cream
¼ Cup of White Glue
Food Coloring

I have learned to put the shaving cream in the bowl first, then add glue on top of the shaving cream and drops of food coloring. Stir completely. It will be foamy.

We typically use spoons versus paint brushes. It’s fun to scoop the puffy paint onto the surface and spread it around, like frosting!

How To:

This is a pretty simple craft!
I drew a tree onto a couple pieces of white card stock.
We each painted the tree trunks and then grabbed the puffy paint spoon and created the top of the tree.

Next we dipped one half of an apple in red paint and stamped the apples onto the tree.

It was super simple but for some reason puffy paint and stories of my childhood always make us end up in a fit of laughs. We had a lot of fun and I can’t wait for fall to actually hit!
